About Westgate Wellbeing
Westgate Wellbeing offers mental health support for children, young people, and parents/carers in the Thanet and East Kent areas, delivered by experienced NHS-trained practitioner Shaun Newport-Quinn.
Shaun can help with a wide range of problems and challenges such as anxiety and behavioural difficulties in children under 12, and low mood and anxiety difficulties in young people aged 12-18.
He also delivers workshops to primary and secondary schools on a range of topics such as; anxiety, sleep hygiene, online safety, technology use, exam stress, peer mentoring, primary to secondary/class and year group transition anxiety.
Shaun trained as a Primary School Teacher with a BA in Primary Education in 2012, before exploring wellbeing and psychology in NHS in-patient settings from 2017. He gained a Masters with Merit in Psychology in 2020, and has been working with NHS Mental Health Support Teams as an Education Mental Health Practitioner since 2022. Shaun has also worked with County Councils within the Inclusion and Attendance services, supporting parents in getting their children back to school and supporting parents who elected to home educate.
Shaun is a member of the Wider Psychological Workforce (WPW) Register and is regulated by the British Psychological Society. His details can be found in the WPW register here. He holds an Enhanced DBS check with no endorsements, and is fully insured with PLI and Professional Indemnity.
